Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

This is one of the most extensive resources I have encountered on Candida but I wanted to ask you for breakfast suggestions. I have a very long list of food allergies and was relying on soaked nuts/seeds for my breakfast (nuts would go on top of a gluten free cereal). I'd love to eat eggs, as you have recommended, but I am allergic to all parts of an egg. Any healthy suggestions?

Also, do you recommend only supplementing with the vitamins mentioned or should I use a multivitamin as well?

Bee
Wow- what an amazing article.

Question. I suffer from Candida as well with Heart arrythmia being the main issue-- Extra beats.
I am currently on the diet. I am interested in taking a heart multivitamin and was wondering what you thought of Nordic Naturals Heart formula.

It contains
Serving Size: 2 Soft Gels Servings per container: 30
Amount Per Serving % Daily Value*
Calories 17
Calories from fat ..16
Total Fat 1.7 g 3%
Saturated Fat 0.09 g 0.05%
Fish Oil 1650 mg †
EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) 536 mg †
DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) 371 mg †
Vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) 60 I.U. 200%
Folic Acid 400 mcg 100%
Magnesium (as Magnesium Oxide) 208 mg 52%
Selenium (as L-Selenomethionine) 100 mcg 142%
L-Carnitine (as L-Carnitine Tartrate) 50 mg †
Coenzyme Q-10 50 mg †
* Percent Daily Values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet.
† Daily Value not established.Less than 5 mg of Cholesterol per serving.

The issue I have it contains soy lecithin listed as "Other Ingredient" and the E is derived from Soybean oil.

Will this cause an issue with Candida. I have heard that the process to derive E from the oil removes all the negative proteins and thus will not be an issue for Candida.

Thanks for you input.

Dear Kathy,
My program does detoxing more gradually than most other candida programs, mainly because of the high "good" fats, no cleansers, less supplements, etc.

I believe it is much worst for your baby to continue getting candida toxins (there are over 79 different kinds, with most of them being alcohol).

Also when you have candida your body isn't as capable of making good milk. The main reason is because candida causes all cell membranes to become rigid/stiff, which interferes with the functioning of all organs and systems in the body, including digestion.

This also means hormones, nutrients, and water aren't as able to get into rigid cells, and cells aren't as able to get rid of their own waste. To understand more see Candida Causes Cell Membrane Defects: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/cabout1.php

Also your baby many have candida as well, which is manifest by cradle cap, mouth thrush, diaper rash, etc. - see Candida Treatments for Babies & Children: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/baby.php

I hope that helps you.

Hi Kathy,
Detoxing of any kind is not recommended during breast feeding. There is a high chance you'll start converting your fat stores into your breast milk. And since fat stores toxins, these will go into your breast milk. Steering clear of highly refined sugary foods and eating plenty of good fats will improve the quality of your breast milk and keep your blood sugar stable. Do a detox when baby's weaned. Your energy won't be as compromised and baby won't be at risk of exposure to any toxins stored in your body.
Congratulations on your baby. Being a well informed mother is one of the best gifts we can pass on to our children.
